Ofrenda – The Ofrenda is a Spanish word that translates to English as an offering. The ofrenda is traditionally associated with Dia de Muertos, the annual Mexican celebration of remembrance of friends and family who have died. In the western world is known as All Saints Day.  The Ofrenda is generally filled with food and trinkets and pictures of those who are being remembered. Marigolds are a typical flower that is associated with Dia de Muertos and generally adorn the ofrenda. My Quilt depicts A skull in a bed of Marigold flowers  a small fragment of a traditional ofrenda.
