The colors, sounds, and smells of the Mexican culture(s) have always fascinated me. Lucha Libre, or Mexican wrestling, is an intricate theatre of muscles, masks, and mayhem, an event that is enjoyed by the entire family. This quilt, titled “El Luchador”, pays homage to the masked protagonist of this art and is reminiscent of bombastic wrestling posters of the 1970s.
